- The Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore is taking measures to become more eco-friendly with a renewable energy source. They are capturing methane gas from a landfill to supply most the center’s electricity and saving $2M a year.
- Guardians take time out to work on a Habitat for Humanity house in North Carolina. Petty Officer Tucker says it best, “We’re your neighbors. We’re your friends. We’re the people in the grocery store, so there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be out here community serving with everyone else.”
