  • Coast Guard repatriated 11 Dominicans and detained two more after they were illegally travelling to Puerto Rico aboard a 20-foot boat. The boat was dangerously overloaded putting the lives of the people onboard in danger. As part of the migrant interdiction mission, the Coast Guard not only enforces immigration law at sea but also maintains its humanitarian responsibility to prevent the loss of life at sea.

  • The fifth annual Coast Guard Days are being held in Port Huron, Michigan this weekend, July 17-19. A softball challenge between Guardians and local police and fire department personnel kicked off the festivities last weekend. This weekend is full of ceremonial honors, tours, a helicopter demonstration, a boat parade, a cookout and much more.

  • Coast Guard law enforcement officers and the Navy’s USS Crommelin worked together to protect the nation’s natural resources in Oceania. The forces transited the Western Pacific for about two weeks last month enforcing fisheries laws in a joint effort to stop illegal fishing in this region.
