  • Coast Guard, Vallejo Fire Department and a California Highway Patrol helicopter rescued two people who were injured after their boat reportedly struck the jetty in Carquinez Strait in Northern California. One person, who was seriously injured, was airlifted to the hospital by the helicopter while the other was taken by ambulance.

  • The Coast Guard has been involved in a variety of missions, but this is the first time I ever heard of us assisting in a manhunt on land. Searching is surely something we are good at so I guess it seems natural to help local authorities look for a man on land who was wanted after a fatal hit-and-run accident.
