Have you ever wanted to tour a lighthouse that isn’t typically open to the public? Well, Saturday is your chance to visit nearly 30 of these lighthouses located all along Maine’s coastline.
Maine’s Governor John Baldacci, in conjunction with the Maine Office of Tourism, the Coast Guard and the American Lighthouse Foundation, announced the first ever Maine Open Lighthouse Day, to be held this Saturday, September 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
