Yesterday, in San Francisco, the Interagency Ocean Policy Task Force (OPTF) met and held a public meeting to discuss the recent release of the Task Force’s Interim Report. The Report outlines recommendations for developing a national policy for our oceans, coasts and Great Lakes, a framework for improved Federal policy coordination and an implementation strategy to meet the objectives of a national ocean policy.
Throughout the development process, the OPTF has sought public engagement through public meetings, expert briefings, and Web comments. Meetings will continue in several more cities across the nation including Providence, Cleveland, New Orleans and Honolulu.
