  • Coast Guard Cutter Sea Fox was commissioned yesterday at Naval Base Kitsap-Keyport in Washington. CGC Sea Fox is an 87-foot patrol boat with a crew of 10 Guardians.   • Guardians from Sector Jacksonville and Station Mayport recently competed as the first all Coast Guard softball team in the World Military Softball Tournament. They called their team Guardians of the First Coast and they tied for fifth in the tournament.

  • Lawrence Jessie Pellegrin Sr., a Coast Guard veteran and Montegut, Louisiana, resident, was honored as the Legionnaire of the Year. As a member of several local military organizations, he has spent more than 10 years performing military honors at funerals and other events and has participated in an estimated 1,000 local funerals.
