Coast Guard Training Center Petaluma in California, has installed a four-acre solar array on its grounds. Through a contract agreement with SilRay, the company builds, owns and operates the solar photovoltaic system and sells the energy back to the base at a contracted rate. It is expected that the array will produce about 875kW of power and save the training center an estimated $1.5M in energy costs over the life of the contract. Read more over at the iFORCECOM blog.
