Guardians are on the scene of a fuel tank farm explosion near San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Coast Guard has deployed multiple assets to provide a safety and security zone as the fire is brought under control. Guardians are continuing to respond to and investigate the cause of an oil spill in Charleston Harbor, S.C. While the source of the spill remains under investigation, its impact is being felt by local beach goers and fisherman who have been advised to avoid the water until the clean-up is completed. Guardians from Coast Guard Station Philadelphia have rescued two mariners and their sinking vessel on the Delaware River near Delaware City. Guardians arrived on scene to find the 33-foot boat taking on water and without communications after striking a submerged object and towed the boat and its crew to safety. Story here
