Earlier today, Coast Guard headquarters personnel participated in Ready, Set, Inflate – a joint effort by the National Safe Boating Council and the Canadian Safe Boating Council. The event was part of the kick-off for Safe Boating Week 2010 and an effort to set a world record for the number of inflatable life jackets activated simultaneously. No word yet on the world record but the event was a great opportunity to highlight the importance of life jackets as we head into the summer boating season.
