2010 Photo Contest

It’s week eight, the final set of photos, for the Coast Guard Photo Contest People’s Choice award!

Over the past two months, we’ve highlighted 40 photos out of the more than 600 photos submitted for this year’s Coast Guard Photo Contest. It is time to pick your favorites from these 40 images and vote for your People’s Choice award.

To vote, just click on the picture(s) below that you like and post a positive comment OR you can go directly to our Flickr photo set to see all the pictures entered into the People’s Choice contest and leave your comment there. Voting will stay open until next Monday, March 14, and we will announce the top three People’s Choice photos on Tuesday, March 15.

Rescue Swimmer deploys

OCEANSIDE, Calif. – Petty Officer 3rd Class Eric Fuentes from Aids to Navigation Team San Diego throws a heaving line from a jetty to crew members aboard a 26-foot boat March 9, 2010. The line was used to pass tools and components to the jetty to replace legacy navigation lights with solar-powered LED lights, providing increased visibility and improved energy efficiency. Oil Skimming Operations
