United States Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Bob Papp expressed his sympathy for Japanese losses as a result of the recent Tohoku earthquake and tsunami and hands a personal letter to Japan Coast Guard Cmdr. Akira Sambai at Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, D.C., on Friday.
Cmdr. Sambai, a Japanese Embassy representative, will deliver the letter to Japan Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Hisayasu Suzuki. In the letter, Adm. Papp offers condolences from the members of the United States Coast Guard to the Japan Coast Guard for their nation’s losses. He also affirms support to the Japanese coast guard in the difficult work they face over the next several months.
