This week, the largest maritime exposition in the United States is taking place in the nation’s capital and the Coast Guard is center stage.
Since 1965, the Sea-Air-Space Exposition has brought together the U.S. sea services, private-sector companies and key military decision makers for an innovative, educational, professional and maritime based event. The expo features high-level discussions on strategic policy, programs and maritime issues as well as interactive exhibits showcasing industry’s latest technology and equipment.
“The Navy League’s Sea-Air-Space Exposition provides a valuable forum for the sea services to meet each year and discuss current issues, strategy and technologies,” said Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Bob Papp. “The Navy League provides an essential service in raising public awareness of our role as a maritime nation and bringing government and industry together to enhance associated capabilities. Our participation allows us to better understand the challenges and opportunities facing all of us as partner maritime services.”
This year’s theme – “Naval Expeditionary Forces: Preserving Global Economic Security and National Security” – promises for an informative dialogue on the United States’ support of global interests, international engagement and implications in the Arctic, deployable specialized forces, research and development, and budget challenges and opportunities.
A complete list of keynote addresses, roundtable discussions and floor speaker topics is available on the Sea-Air-Space Expo website.
If you cannot attend the expo in person, you can follow it online.
