After thousands of votes you have chosen “Remembrance” as Coast Guard photo of the year. The photo depicts Seaman Donald Hackett, a member of the Ceremonial Honor Guard, at a memorial ceremony for Coast Guard Cutter Blackthorn. The photo was shot by Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael De Nyse and evokes, as one of our fans stated, “honor and dignity.”

Congratulations to all the photographers competing in Shutter Shootout this year and thanks to our Facebook fans who participated in voting over the last three weeks!
