The Coast Guard’s future begins at Cape May, New Jersey.
Coast Guard Training Center Cape May is the nation’s only Coast Guard enlisted accession point and recruit training center. On average, 3,500 of the Coast Guard’s finest arrive in Cape May for the first chapter of their Coast Guard career, and now you have a chance to be part of their transformation!
We are proud to introduce Coast Guard Boot Camp – a blog devoted to the home of the Coast Guard’s enlisted corps. Coast Guard Boot Camp will take you inside the daily trials and tribulations of recruits, giving family and friends a glimpse of recruit life. But it will also be a valuable tool to prepare future recruits.
Less than four percent of applicants are selected for enlisted service in the U.S. Coast Guard. Of those selected, Coast Guard recruits are among the most qualified personnel of any of the military services. Our recruits have the highest ASVAB scores and the most education of any of our sister services. Due to our selective enlistment process, the average applicant will wait six to eight months before reporting to boot camp, and many times this wait is even longer. The wait is the perfect time to prepare and Coast Guard Boot Camp is the perfect place to do that.
So whether you want to cheer on your recruit, find out what recruits are up to or learn more about life at the training center, head over to Coast Guard Boot Camp!
