Coast Guard All Hands sends out a bravo zulu to the men and women of Coast Guard Cryptologic Services Group Maritime Intelligence Fusion Center Pacific for their leadership in the intelligence community. Recently, the team was recognized with the Department of Homeland Security’s 2013 Intelligence Leadership Award.
In the citation accompanying the award, Ronald Cranfill, Chief Petty Officer Joshua Coleman, Petty Officer 1st Class David Deets and Petty Officer 2nd Class Taylor Johnson were specifically recognized for “demonstrating superior analytical skills and dedication” resulting in a quadrupling the number of maritime marijuana seizures in Pacific Area’s theatre of operations, providing a superlative level of tactical support to the DHS’ living marine resource enforcement efforts throughout the Pacific and identifying suspect activities inside the United States’ Exclusive Economic Zone and high seas driftnet exclusion areas.
“To come into work every day and know that you’re work has a positive impact really feels good,” said Coleman. “Knowing that our work helps safeguard our borders keeps us coming back every day!”
