2015 Coast Guard Foundation scholarship program now open

The Coast Guard Foundation scholarship program is soliciting applications for the 2015-2016 academic school year starting Feb. 1 – March 15, 2015. Considerations for the selection of awardees include scholastic promise, motivation, moral character, leadership qualities, and good citizenship. Priority will be given to children of active-duty members.

The Coast Guard Foundation scholarship program is soliciting applications for the 2015-2016 academic school year starting Feb. 1 – March 15, 2015. Considerations for the selection of awardees include scholastic promise, motivation, moral character, leadership qualities, and good citizenship. The below scholarships have more specific eligibility requirements:

• The Captain Ernest W. Fox Perpetual Scholarship Program is for employees of the Aviation Logistics Center on active-duty and federal civil service employees as well as their dependents. The Fox Scholarship will provide one, non-renewable, $2,000 scholarship for the 2015-2016 school year. Contact the ALC training officer or education services officer at 252-335-6214 to obtain information on eligibility and application procedures.

• The Fallen Heroes Scholarship Fund solicits applications on a continuous basis year round. Coast Guard children who have lost a parent in Coast Guard operations are eligible and encouraged to apply for this scholarship. The intent is to ensure the children of deceased Coast Guard members pay no costs for their education.

These foundation scholarships are made possible by multiple benefactor organizations.
