2015 Videos of the Year: Healy Geotraces expedition

In the eighth video of this year’s top 10 competition, the crew of Coast Guard Cutter Healy embarks on an expedition with the National Science Foundation-funded research program Geotraces in an endeavor to study trace elements in the world’s oceans.

We are pleased to announce the 2015 nominees for Coast Guard Video of the Year. We’ve selected the top 10 videos, the best of the best, as this year’s nominees. Now, we need your help in deciding the top Coast Guard video for 2015!

In the eighth video of this year’s top 10 competition, the crew of Coast Guard Cutter Healy embarks on an expedition with the National Science Foundation-funded research program Geotraces in an endeavor to study trace elements in the world’s oceans.

The 2015 Coast Guard Video of the Year contest starts Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015 and ends Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016. The first video nominee will debut here on Compass, along with Facebook and Twitter beginning Dec. 22, with a new video released each day through Dec. 31. All of the videos can be seen on the Coast Guard YouTube channel beginnig on Dec. 22. You can vote for your favorite videos by liking them on Facebook or YouTube, via retweet and favorite on Twitter or commenting below.

The winner will be announced Jan. 4, 2016, on Coast Guard Compass and our Facebook page and we can’t wait to hear from you, our fans, which is your favorite!

  1. So well done. Wish these videos would be shown to High School students as sophomores or juniors to help inspire and make career choices. Had I seen or known more about Coast Guard I would have pursued a career in the Coast Guard.

    Well done. So proud of all who serve.
