Today, the Coast Guard’s Leadership Council commenced its 9th meeting under the direction of Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Paul Zukunft. Formally established 18 years ago, the Leadership Council is the Commandant’s senior-most, formal decision-making and advisory body. Consisting of the senior-most leaders in our 88,000-strong workforce, the Leadership Council’s nine members represent all Coast Guard personnel – making it similar to a board of directors in the corporate world. The Leadership Council is focused on making the necessary, and sometimes difficult, decisions to ensure the Coast Guard remains Semper Paratus. Please view the video above to hear more about the Leadership Council from our Vice Commandant, Adm. Charles Michel.
