Life insurance is one of the most valuable financial tools you can own, providing financial security and peace of mind for you and your family. If you don’t think you need if because you are young, or single with no kids, you could be wrong.
As part of our mission to serve servicemembers, veterans, and their families, Veterans Affairs provides valuable life insurance benefits to give you the peace of mind that comes with knowing your family is protected. VA’s life insurance programs were developed to provide financial security for your family given the extraordinary risks involved in military service.
Check out veteran Josh Hinman’s story to see why life insurance can be a critical part of your financial security – especially when you’re just starting out in life.
While Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance (SGLI) is automatic when you join the service, Veterans’ Group Life Insurance (VGLI) is not. Buying VGLI coverage provides the opportunity to obtain lifetime renewable insurance coverage after separation – but you must apply within 1 year and 120 days from separation!
And if you have health problems, even minor ones, apply within the first 240 days from separation and you won’t have to prove you’re in good health. It’s easy to apply, and it’s one of the most responsible things you can do to protect those you love. Go online now!
