What Inspires You to be a Great Leader? Is it a co-worker, a family member, your favorite book, or a moving TED TALK?
Join Rear Adm. William Kelly, assistant commandant for Coast Guard Human Resources, and Mr. Curtis Odom, director of Civilian Human Resources, Diversity and Leadership, as they kick-off a new leadership blog series and talk about why leadership is an important topic for our organization.
The Office of Leadership will soon announce the winners of the 2017 Inspirational Leadership Awards. These annual awards recognize Coast Guard active duty and reserve duty enlisted members, officers and civilian employees who best exemplify the Coast Guard’s core values of Honor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty. This blog series will highlight the winners’ own stories as they share what has inspired them in their leadership journeys. Check back here at All Hands each month to join in this leadership dialogue.
The mission of the Office of Leadership is to communicate and facilitate the Commandant’s Leadership Philosophy and Coast Guard Leadership Competencies by providing Officer, Enlisted, and Civilian personnel with information and resources for professional development opportunities, recognizing exceptional leadership, and establishing policies to sustain leaders of character at all levels.
