This ALCOAST solicits submissions for the 2017 National IMAGE Meritorious Service Award. The award honors service members and civilian employees who have supported the U.S. Coast Guard’s mission, or whose attributes best epitomized the Coast Guard’s core values of honor, respect, and devotion to duty. The IMAGE Meritorious Service Award is open to CG service members (active duty or reserve) and civilian employees. The performance period for award consideration is January 2016 to December 2016.

This ALCOAST announces the awards recipients of the 2016 Captain Niels P. Thomsen Innovation Awards. 049/17_ACN – Promulgation of Change 1 to Discipline and Conduct, COMDTINST M1600.2
This ALCOAST announces the promulgation of Change 1 to REF (A). This change expands upon the current definition and description of hazing, introduce the definition of bullying which has not been previously discussed or codified, and identify key reporting requirements when an allegation of hazing or bullying is made or when hazing and/or bullying is suspected. Also including in this change is criteria for Pretrial Confinement and guidance for Interpersonal Relationships in the Coast Guard.
048/17_ACN – Administration of the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) Organizational Climate Survey (DEOCS)
DEOCS is a Commandant mandated and a proven organizational climate survey. Effective immediately, field commanding officers/officers in charge and Headquarters/Area Directors/Commanders, regardless of the unit/office size, must administer a DEOCS for their workforce within 180 days of assuming command/responsibility and annually thereafter. Additionally, they must ensure all personnel attached to subordinate commands are offered an opportunity to participate in an annual survey.
