171/17_ALCOAST – 2017 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS)
In order to effectively achieve our mission, it is important that every member of our Coast Guard’s voice be heard. During the week of 11 May 2017, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) released the 2017
Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS) to a random sample of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employees. We hope that every Coast Guard employee surveyed will take the time to entrust us with your valuable feedback so that we can continue to make the Coast Guard a better place to work. Based on previous FEVS results, Coast Guard leadership has implemented several improvements.

This message seeks to raise awareness of general programmatic concerns and provide general guidance as we move into the summer transfer season.
013/17 – Oct 2017 Reserve Servicewide Exam (RSWE) announcement
This message announces the OCT 2017 RSWE competition for pay grades E-5 through E-9. A member’s failure to receive, review and follow the guidelines of this message will not justify a waiver of its requirements. Commanding Officers shall ensure dissemination of this message to all Reserve enlisted members in their AOR. Units, SWE Officers, Education Services Officers and affected members shall familiarize themselves with the contents of this message and REFs A through H.
056/17_ACN – Obligated Service (OBLISERV) REQUIREMENT to attend Class A School
This message provides an update to the obligated service requirements outlined in REF (A) to attend Class A School. This message is not intended to address the additional obligated service requirements outlined in REF (B) that relate to follow on assignment after Class A School graduation. In order for a member to execute orders to Class A School they must have at least 24 months of service remaining on their enlistment upon graduation from Class A School. It is the responsibility of the member’s Personnel and Admin Office to ensure the member meets the 24 month obligated service requirement prior to executing orders to Class A School.
