Annually, Women’s Equality Day celebrates the anniversary of the adoption of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution on August 26, 1920. Since 1971, this date has commemorated the numerous accomplishments of American women and men who changed the trajectory of our Nation by guaranteeing women the right to vote.
This ALCOAST is a solicitation regarding the FY 2018 Copernicus Award submission. The Copernicus Award was established to recognize individual contributions to naval warfare in command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I), cyber operations and information warfare.
This ALCOAST solicits volunteers to serve on the 2018 Coast Guard Reserve Awards Panel. Panel members have a unique leadership opportunity to impact selection for the Coast Guard Reserve awards and scholarships administered annually. Panel membership is open to all Coast Guard Active Duty, Reserve, Auxiliary, and Civilian personnel.
Congratulations to Mr. Damien Terry from COMDT (CG-12B), Office of Diversity and Inclusion, who was selected as the Coast Guard recipient of the 2017 National Image Inc Meritorious Service Award. This award honors personnel who have significantly supported and contributed to the Coast Guard’s missions and whose attributes best epitomized the qualities and Core Values of Honor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty.
Nominations are being accepted for the 2017 Commander John P. Dailey Award. One active duty and one civilian employee will be selected. Created in 2011, this recognition program was initiated in honor of Cmdr.John P. Dailey who passed away on active duty in 2009. CDR Dailey was an outstanding officer and leader, superb engineer and charismatic mentor. While battling cancer, he displayed exceptional courage in the face of adversity by faithfully executing his duties with a commitment to provide mentorship and advocacy for the C4IT community.
It’s that time of year again! Flu vaccination is mandatory for all Coast Guard Active Duty and Selected Reserve personnel to ensure force medical readiness and avoid disruption of Coast Guard missions.
AESOP is a two day overnight program for junior enlisted members with outstanding performance and leadership potential. Members will be exposed to the academy experience, specifically academics, military instruction, athletics, and cadet life. AESOP will be held 29 October through 31 October 2017 at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. The deadline for application submission is 01 October 2017.
The White House Fellows Program seeks talented individuals from all sectors of our national life – private industry, academia, medicine, military, law, the arts, and state and local government. Civilian federal government employees are not eligible. The White House selects 11-19 Fellows each year through a national competition process. Fellows serve for one year as special assistants to high ranking officials of the executive branch, including cabinet secretaries and senior members of the Executive Office of the President.
