This message announces the potential launch of a new pilot program, the Enlisted Marine Inspector Training Program (EMITP) in Assignment Year 18. This program, which is in the final stages of development, will offer outstanding professional development and career broadening opportunities for Chief Petty Officers and First Class Petty Officers who have the desire and aptitude to train in the challenging and rewarding field of Marine Inspections.
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has implemented a new Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) Donor Pledging System for use across the federal government (https://cfcgiving.opm.gov/welcome). The system allows donors to find charities and make contributions online through payroll deductions, credit/debit card, funds transfer from a bank account, and commitments to volunteer. The system will transmit payroll deduction requests directly to our civilian employee payroll provider (the National Finance Center (NFC)) or military payroll provider (Pay and Personnel Center (PPC)).
Coast Guard personnel involved in hurricane response operations may experience injuries and/or illnesses that could have long term health effects and/or fitness for duty implications. To ensure that such events are captured in the Service Treatment Records (STRs) of CG personnel, and to ensure that CG personnel receive appropriate medical care related to such events, all CG personnel involved in hurricane response operations must complete a post-response health assessment.
CG PSC-EPM-1 will accept waiver requests for all USASMA applicant eligibility criteria listed in the message references, with the exception of tour completion date. USASMA applicants must be tour complete in AY18 or AY19.
At 0001 EST, Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, availability to Direct Access will be limited
to only those users who will be performing tasks associated with 2018 payroll and
regulatory changes, and will be reactivated at 0001, EST, Monday, Jan. 1, 2018. This
limited availability is necessary to avoid the submission of self service and SPO
transactions that potentially conflict with the legislative pay and regulatory changes.
