Rachel is married to her high school sweetheart, Chief Warrant Officer James Conley, and is the mother of three children. Through the Coast Guard’s Health, Safety, and Work-Life Spouse Employment Assistance Program, Transition and Relocation Managers (TRMs) provide spouse employment assistance in a variety of ways, but most importantly they have the ability to engage individually with spouses and family members on their unique career goals. TRMs can provide assistance with developing resumes and LinkedIn profiles, preparing for interviews, and providing referrals for local employment resources like job fairs, professional networking events, labor market information, workshops and more.
“Maintaining a meaningful and progressive career can be challenging for Coast Guard families who experience regular moves, deployments and family separations. Having to re-enroll children in schools or childcare at new duty stations, staying abreast of different credentialing requirements when moving to a new state, and working to identify new professional networking opportunities with a career change can feel overwhelming and even discouraging,” said Jennifer Conole, a Transition and Relocation Manager in San Diego. “Connecting with your work-life TRM can help to reduce stress, improve opportunities, increase job search effectiveness and decrease the amount of time it may take to secure a fulfilling job or career.”
