Hurricane Florence is heading towards the United States East Coast, with projected landfall on Thursday, September 13, 2018, between northern South Carolina and North Carolina’s Outer Banks as a strong category 2 hurricane with 105 mph sustained winds, extreme rainfall and major inland flooding.
Although shifts in the track of Hurricane Florence are possible, it is expected that the storm will impact distances well beyond where landfall occurs.
States of Emergencies have been declared in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
When a State of Emergency is issued, TRICARE may authorize early prescription refills, blanket waivers for referrals or other emergency benefits. When authorized, any emergency benefits are announced and posted to www.tricare.mil/disaster along with effective dates.

Emergency Prescription Refills
To get an emergency refill, TRICARE beneficiaries should take their prescription bottle to any TRICARE retail network pharmacy. To find a network pharmacy, call Express Scripts at 1-877-363-1303. You can also search the network pharmacy locator.
If possible, TRICARE beneficiaries should visit the pharmacy where the prescription was filled. If using a retail chain, the prescription can be filled at another store in that chain. If their provider is available, he or she may call in a new prescription to any network pharmacy.
If displaced during a disaster, a TRICARE beneficiary may be unable to get to their regular doctor. TRICARE regional offices and regional contractors will determine if referral waivers will be authorized. All instructions will be included in the disaster alert if a blanket waiver issued.
