Secretary Duke announced the DHS Leadership Year on 1 OCT, a yearlong effort (FY18) to promote a culture of leadership excellence and highlight the importance of leadership at all levels. As part of the initiative, the Office of Leadership (CG-128) will highlight leadership opportunities available; give the fleet tools and resources to support leaders/supervisors in effectively managing performance, and to continue the leadership dialogue.
Chief Warrant Officer Clint Morgan will be highlighting leadership development opportunities including Midgrade Officer and Civilian Transition Course 1 and 2, master’s degree with George Washington University, and the Chief Warrant Officer Professional Development program during the next Leadership Learning Café session.
Greg Fondran recently graduated the New Leader Program, run by Graduate School USA, for federal civilian employees from GS-7 to GS-11 pay grades. The NLP is a program offered by COMDT (CG-12C) which is tailored for public service employees who demonstrate a high potential for leadership. Fondran shares his experience over his six months in the program.
