TRICARE regularly reviews its coverage of procedures and expands services, procedures and processes covered to provide the best care possible to eligible beneficiaries. There are some recent additions to services covered. Beginning in December of 2016 the Auditory Osseointerated Implant (AOI) is a covered benefit for non active duty members, and has recently expanded services to diagnose and treat illness to the urinary system. Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) is also now covered under TRICARE, as well as preventive health care visits for TRICARE Prime enrolled beneficiaries age 6 and older. The Coast Guard Office of Work-Life is reminding all active duty members and selected reserve members on orders for 181 days or more who have dependent family members diagnosed with medical, psychological, physical, or educational special needs to ensure all enrollment documentation for the Special Needs Program be updated by Sept. 30, 2015, or be administratively closed on Oct. 1, 2015.
