On Jan. 20, 2017, a new administration will take office. Joining departments and agencies across the federal government, the Coast Guard’s Presidential Transition Team directly supports the department’s Presidential Transition Office through thorough planning, preparation and collaboration across the service and within the department. All transition teams’ responsibilities span a broad spectrum; however, one primary task is to ensure the new administration understands information regarding an organization. Telling the Coast Guard’s story and how we bring value to the Nation is part of ensuring a seamless transition to the next administration. Election years bring change over within the administration. In order to ensure continuity of operations and a seamless transition from the current administration to the next through thorough planning, preparation, and collaboration across the Coast Guard and with the Departments, the Coast Guard has created a Presidential Transition Team (PTT) to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Presidential Transition Office transition activities. Telling the Coast Guard’s story and how we bring value to the Nation is part of ensuring a seamless transition to the next administration. A “U.S. Coast Guard Overview” booklet and an associated website was developed are now available and can be used in the conduct of various public and external affairs missions throughout the fleet.
